Blueprint for Prosperity:
Engineering a Sustainable Blue Economy
Kenya’s Blue Economy has emerged as a strategic frontier for economic growth, environmental sustainability, and job creation. Covering oceans, seas, lakes, rivers, and associated resources, the Blue Economy is projected to significantly contribute to Kenya’s Vision 2030, the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), and the African Union’s Agenda 2063. The country’s vast maritime and freshwater resources offer immense opportunities in shipping, port development, fisheries, aquaculture, marine biotechnology, coastal tourism, and offshore renewable energy. However, to fully unlock this potential, strategic investments in engineering, technology, and sustainable infrastructure are essential. Engineers play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and technologies that enable the Blue Economy to thrive. From resilient ports and shipyards to coastal protection systems, waste management, and digital marine surveillance, the profession is at the heart of innovation, sustainability, and resilience in the sector. The Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) proposes the Annual Engineering Partnerships Convention 2026 with the theme: “Harnessing the Blue Economy for Sustainable Development” with the following sub-themes:

The Global Digital Economy is a booming sector that's transforming how people live, work, learn, and consume. In the last 15 years, the global digital economy has grown tremendously and is estimated to be US$ 11.5 Trillion, equivalent to 15.5% of the global GDP and growing 2.5 times faster than global GDP. The Global Digital Economy will reach $16.5 Trillion and capture 17% of Global GDP By 2028.
Influential media, entertainment & technology show inspirational speakers including game changing not just a large-scale.
Digital infrastructure pillar enables the provision of affordable, accessible and reliable digital services. Kenya is ranked number 77 by the Network Readiness Index of 2022 on People, Technology, Governance and Impact. It is ranked 58 globally based on availability, affordability, relevance and readiness of Internet by the Inclusive Internet Index (2022). Kenya's mobile and internet penetration is among the highest in Africa.
Sustainable Innovations for a Connected World
The aim of the Innovation Fair is to provide a platform that showcases creativity, ingenuity, and technological advancements made in engineering by inventors, entrepreneurs, researchers, and innovators to display their cutting-edge ideas, products, and solutions.
